by Doug Davidoff | Jul 25, 2019 10:54:03 AM

What is the promise of AI? Doug's response is the promise that technology is going to make you smart(er). Mike contradicts this a little by saying that there are still other components and that there are lot of bad ways AI could be used. Right now the number one application of AI that everyone uses (yourself included) is the voice search on your phone. That's pretty much the extent to AI right now. We're essentially just creating a greater illusion than the reality of where AI stands.

The biggest issue that comes from using more AI features like chat-bots with sales and marketing is that we start to blow past the educational metric and go right into trying to sell. We are taking the humanity out of everything technology wise; we're auto-tuning the human component out. Both Doug and Mike are on the side of "team human" with this issue. In the end one of two things is going to happen:  either the government is going to highly regulate AI or we're going to take matters into our own hands. That's scary to think about! Whatever the outcome, fragmentation will be worse than regulation.
